When Hand Out Gloves featured on Shark Tank, it was no surprise that the owners of the company left the show with a deal from Barbara Corcoran. These thoughtfully designed gloves were destined to become ultra popular top sellers.
Hand Out Gloves offer a unique, versatile twist on the traditional glove and mitten. By adding a strategically placed zipper on the back of the hand, the wearer can quickly remove their hands without removing the entire glove. The glove cuff remains securely tucked into your jacket, making it a cinch to put back on or take off as quickly and as often as needed.
This feature comes in extremely handy when you need to expose fingers for fine tasks or extreme dexterity, or even if you just want to add a bit of ventilation to over-heated hands while hiking or backpacking.
Constructed of a durable exterior with a Hipora waterproof lining and waterproof zipper, these gloves offer breathable, moisture-wicking comfort and protection that will last. Another thoughtful part of the design is an elastic strap that is used to keep the upper part of the glove out of the way when it’s unzipped and the fingers are out.
Hand Out Gloves and Mittens come in 6 styles: Pro Gloves, Pro Mittens, Sports Gloves Sports Mittens, and Lightweight Gloves and Lightweight Mittens. All of these are available in 5 unisex sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL.
While the gloves and mittens of each style share the same basic features as one another, below we explore the differences between the Pro, Sports, and Lightweight options.
Hand Out Pro Gloves and Mittens
The Pro style of Hand Out Gloves featured on Shark Tank are the top of the line gloves and mittens in this collection, and as such are the most expensive.
A quality cowhide leather exterior sets these apart from the others, with an insulation effect that can handle the coldest of environments. These are great for heading outdoors on those extreme weather days.
Hand Out Sports Gloves and Mittens
These Sports gloves share many of the same great features of the Pro gloves, except that the exterior is made of a durable polyester instead of leather.
The result is a slightly less bulky glove that allows for extreme mobility and all around usability. It also makes them less expensive than the Pro gloves. These gloves are ideal for cooler days and active outdoor activities.
Hand Out Lightweight Gloves and Mittens
The Lightweight gloves are made of a comfy stretchable neoprene.
The least expensive in the Hand Out Gloves line-up, these deliver shorter cuffs and less bulk, making them a perfect choice for moderate sunny days when heading for a walk or enjoying the outdoors when you just need to cut the chill a bit.
A Bit of Background
Hand Out Gloves is based in Utah, which is certainly a great place to run a company that features products for cold weather. In their first year of business, they sold $15,000 worth of gloves in various stores in the extended Salt Lake Area. Fast forward to 2016 and they were on target for selling over $100,000.
Company president Jake Sullivan together with Don Wildman, the oldest Ironman triathlete and billionaire founder of Bally’s Total Fitness appeared on Shark Tank on December 9, 2016. They explained that they have two patents pending: one on the waterproof zipper and the other on the elastic strap.
At the time of airing, the Pro Gloves and Sports Gloves were the company’s best sellers. Will this continue to be the case? It will certainly be exciting to see where the partnership with Barbara helps take this company next. We’ll look forward to seeing them on a future episode where perhaps they’ll be featured as a “Shark Tank Update”.
